Why I Built This
Flash Card Math Challenge started at our kitchen table
Hi, I'm Jeremy — an iOS developer and a dad. When timed math-fact tests started coming home in my kids' backpacks, practice meant paper flashcards, groans, and a lot of “are we done yet?” They were perfectly capable of mastering their facts — they just needed practice that felt like a game instead of a chore.
So I built them one. Short, timed rounds they could squeeze in before dinner. Big, friendly cards. Difficulty that ramps up as they improve, and progress they can actually see — so “I'm bad at math” turned into “I beat yesterday's score.” It worked at our house: the groans stopped and the scores climbed.
Flash Card Math Challenge is the app I wished existed when the first worksheet came home. No gimmicks and no busywork — just the focused practice that makes math facts stick, wrapped in something kids genuinely want to pick up.
