Privacy Policy

The Short Version

Grailkeep collects nothing. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics SDK, and no server of ours for anything to be sent to. Your collection, your settings, and your purchase status live on your device, and the app works with no network connection at all.

Information We Collect

None. We do not collect, transmit, or sell any personal information — no name, email, location, contacts, or identifiers. We do not use any third-party analytics or advertising SDK.

Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymized App Store statistics (such as download counts and crash reports) for users who have opted in to sharing analytics with developers in their device settings. This data is collected by Apple under Apple's privacy policy and never identifies you to us.

Data Storage

Your collection, condition and quantity records, scan statistics, sound and haptic preferences, and your Grailkeep Pro unlock status are stored locally on your device. Deleting the app deletes all of it. We operate no servers and receive none of it, which also means we cannot recover your collection if you delete the app.

Scanning

Grailkeep reads the identity bytes on an amiibo's NFC tag to name the figure. It only ever reads — it never writes to a tag, and scanning does not alter a figure or use anything up. Tag reads are matched against a catalog bundled inside the app.

Camera scanning happens entirely on your device. Camera frames are analyzed in memory to identify figures and card numbers and are never recorded, stored, or uploaded. Photos you choose for card scanning are read once, in the app, and not copied anywhere.

Network Use

Grailkeep ships with its catalog and artwork built in and is fully usable offline. Apart from Apple-managed purchase and restore requests, it may fetch artwork for an amiibo released after the bundled snapshot was taken. Artwork requests do not include collection data or analytics identifiers, but the artwork host receives network metadata such as the connection's public IP address.

In-App Purchases

Grailkeep Pro is a one-time purchase processed entirely by Apple through your Apple Account. We never see your payment details. Your purchase is tied to your Apple Account, so it restores on a new device with Restore Purchases.

Price Estimates

Price estimates are our own research, drawn from observed completed sales, and are bundled with the app. They are estimates, not appraisals, and nothing about your collection is sent anywhere to produce them.

Children's Privacy

Grailkeep is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children.

Your Rights

Changes to This Policy

Updates to this policy will be posted at this address with a new effective date. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
